This table ranks players by goals, with assists, cards and minutes alongside, and every column can be sorted — useful when the interesting question is not who has scored most but who has been on the pitch least while doing it. The columns adapt to the competition: disciplinary and minutes data exists for some and not others, and a column that would be empty for every player is not shown rather than displayed as a row of dashes.
A note on where the numbers come from, because it explains the gaps honestly. Goals and assists are counted from match events, and those events do not always arrive with a player identifier attached — across our event data roughly a third carry one that resolves to a player record. What every event does carry is the description, and the names are in there as text: "Jude Bellingham (assist: Bukayo Saka)" is typical.
So a goal is almost never lost, but an assist sometimes is. If the provider recorded the scorer and not the provider of the pass, no amount of processing recovers it, and we would rather show a scorer with no assist credited than invent one. Where you see a goal total that matches what you expect and an assist total that looks low, that is usually the reason.
The cards and minutes columns come from the provider's own player-statistics feed rather than being counted here, which is the other reason they are present for some competitions and absent for others. Where a figure is missing it is missing upstream, and we show the gap rather than filling it with a zero that would read as a fact.
